With Dumza Maswana ending heritage month with the magnificent Ingqongqo orchestral concert, the rich culture of the Eastern Cape was boldly shown featuring the mother of Xhosa journalism, Noxolo Grootboom, the music took the audience to an amazing moment of rich music expressing the Xhosa culture in the Eastern Cape. Dedicated to gracing our viewers with talent from this province, this October the channel has spent so much time in bringing our viewers spectacular content which speaks directly to the viewers of Mpuma Kapa TV. We had the grace of being part of the first album launch of Nomabotwe titled ‘Hamba Ungemi.’ The Sun International Boardwalk was packed, everyone came to hear the sweet angelic sounds of this Gqeberha born afro soul artist who literally made flames on stage. In the spirit of album launches, The Soil also made an exquisite appearance at our studios promoting their new album highlighting a very well-known him in the Eastern Cape “Amen.” Speaking of beautiful sounds, the channel also got to sneak peak of our Eastern Cape representative of The Voice SA, Siki Jo-Anne.
We were also fortunate to be part of the Red Bull Dance competition which featured the well-known Hip Hop artist, Nasty C. The event revived the dance culture of the Eastern Cape and the channel is super proud of Beasty all the way from Gelvandale in Gqeberha for winning the competition.
The Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Gqeberha was also graced by the legends of football in the country, Bafana Bafana. This resulted to the channel being blessed by the visit of the veteran football player Doctor Khumalo who created an exciting buzz in our studios.
The channel is also excited to be broadcasting new and exciting content which will blow our viewers away. According to the channel’s content supervisor, Sinazo January, this November the channel will be bringing back the award-winning show, Kwantu Tunes. Viewers must get ready to experience the rich Mbanqanga music we have in the Eastern Cape. The channel is very excited to host its first reality show, The Match Maker which has finally been successful after numerous attempts of making sure the structure is enticing to the channel’s viewers. According to Miss January, all this success “is all about team work, the content team has worked together in building entertaining content which is highly driven by passion and delivering entertainment.”
